Captured by Roy DeCarava, he has portrayed an image of a woman dressed in a delicate white dress, standing in an assuming filthy alleyway. There could be thousands of reason why he had decided this image, but what I gathered was, "Stay classy, not trashy". The "Graduation" is a symbolic picture in my eyes. It could be just a normal picture and I'm just overthinking it.
Lichfield Cathedral: Portal to South Transept delineate by Roger Fenton. The first thought that popped into my head when I laid eyes on this picture was, "this looks like the beginning of a cheesy old movie," where the unsuspecting protagonist searches through a musty and aging temple to find his lover, only to be derailed by the somewhat intelligent antagonist, who successfully used the significant other as bait for the hero.
My top three photographers so far are, indeed, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Roy DeCarava and Roger Fenton. Not because I'm too lazy to look back at the photos I already found and pick out original photographers, but because when I looked through the profiles of Coburn, DeCarava and Fenton, inspiration struck and frankly, it was nice to think of plots of movies and decoding the symbolization.
